Customers First
Local banking that supports local business and always puts customers first
As a local bank that has been a part of the Washington region for over 130 years, we know firsthand the importance of strong relationships. Generations of families and businesses have trusted NCB for all their banking needs. That history is important to us and our tradition of providing personal service is what sets us apart from other banks.
Throughout our history, NCB has faced and survived many periods of uncertainty through prudent business practices and community support. These times are no different and we are committed to continuing to serve our customers and community.
That is why we devoted maximum resources towards implementing and executing the Small Business Association’s (SBA) Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). We anticipated receiving requests from many of our existing small businesses and nonprofit organizations in need of assistance. As a result, in a very short period of time, the Bank approved 100% of the more than 360 loan applications received from both existing customers, as well as new customers, for a total of over $63 million.
The stories we are sharing with you here are about businesses in your community who continue march on in these unprecedented times, putting their customers first.
Mangialardo and Sons
When Antonio and Anna Mangialardo opened their Italian market on Pennsylvania Avenue 67 years ago, they began a partnership with NCB that has lasted for three generations. This is their grandson Tony, who started "helping out" at age 10 and has been running the business fulltime since 1980. All of his six children have previously worked or are still working with him; serving up some of the best Italian subs around. His favorite - The G-Man.
Lisa Williams started Cap8 nine years ago as the need rose for a highly effective regional door and hardware company. As a women-owned, minority business, which was recently named one of the best places to work in the region, Lisa has filled a void in both the construction environment and in her local community. With a bright future ahead, Cap8 Doors & Hardware team is focused on being a strong regional player in the door, frame, hardware and specialties industry. Way to go Lisa!

Hear from our customers about working with us to receive their PPP funding.
“During one of the most uncertain times of our fifteen-year history, NCB literally rescued us during the process of the PPP funding. They returned every message in person (sometimes late at night), they facilitated an easy and user- friendly application process, and most of all approved and funded our loan within days of the request. I have never been more thankful for such stellar customer service in a time of crises.”
“National Capital Bank came to our rescue when we were desperate to secure a PPP loan. We were getting nowhere with other banks and they secured last minute funding for us that really helped give a boost to our business at a very critical and uncertain time. They are responsive, they are efficient, and they are incredibly helpful. They care about their customers.”
Maya Shackley“They were fantastic – gave us the white-glove service! The NCB team explained the rules, walked us through the application and all related paperwork. They are so easy to deal with. We are a small account and they bend over backwards to accommodate us and treat us like a huge account.”
